Description
EQHack is a plugin that enables the possibility to retrieve visually and accurately an equalization previously done on an audio file.
We must have the original audio file, and the equalized audio file, from which we want to retrieve the equalization. From those two files, the plugin enables the possibility to quickly retrieve the equalization that was made, and to easily setup an equalization plugin of our choice to replicate this equalization for later use.
Example of use: Analyze a master
For a musical project with several stakeholders, we have sent a bounce to a third party for mastering. Then we receive back a modified audio file. We’d like to know precisely how the equalization was modified.
Example of use: Analyze the effect of a plugin
We have a plugin from which we like the frequency processing but it is a “black box”. In other words its parameters don’t help to deduce directly the frequency modifications made by the plugin. With the EQHack plugin, we can retrieve accurately the equalization which is made.
